10th THE TALENT
Contemporary Visual Arts Competition
Bakelit Multi Art Center organizes its 10th contemporary visual arts competition entitled „The Talent” for self-taught artists. The aim of the open call is to support the improvement of talented artists and offer them an opportunity to present their works. Above this, our social and artistic mission is to motivate people to express their artistic visions and create!
Title of the open call: „Our waters’ private life is a matter of community” (Elek Woynarovich)
(the submitted works have to correspond to certain artistic, technical and formal requirements)
A professional jury will select those works which to be exhibited in he frame of the open call.
Application deadline: 20th October 2017 6 p.m.
Everyone can apply above the age of 18 who does not graduated any visual artist or applied arts university or college, and he/she does not practice art as profession.
Artists can apply in two categories: painting and graphics.
One artist can apply with up to three works in a category. A series is considered one work, which may contain up to three works. That means that one applicant can submit 9 works in a category for the fee/category. (The jury is empowered to reorganize the series)
If an artists applies for both categories, he/she has to pay the registration fee for the painting and graphics category as well.
We do not accept works realized before 2015.
Size: the maximum size of the works can be 100 cm x 70 cm
We do not accept works that are beyond this size!

After the online registration, we receive your work personally at Bakelit Multi Art Center on the following dates:
26th September 2017 Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
28th September 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
3rd October 2017 Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
5th October 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
10th October 2017 Tuesday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
12th October 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
19th October 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
10th October 2017 Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
On other dates there is no possibility to submit the works!
In case not the artist submits the works, accreditation is needed signed by the artist. Find the accreditation form here.
Registration fee: 5000 Ft.-/ category.
How to pay: by cash when submitting your works at Bakelit Multi Art Center
In case you would like an invoice, fill in the particular segment of the application form with your exact data. We send you the invoice at the end of the actual month.
We do not pay you back the registration fee even if none of your works were selected.
The registration fee is to cover the following expenses: jury’s fee, artists’ prizes, host on the exhibition opening ceremony, organizational and PR expenses, administrational, logistical and technical expenses, and costs regarding installation and transport.
Works should be submitted in particular packing:
- stable framing
- double or central hanger
- beyond glass
- double or central hanger
Clips frames and wet paintings are not accepted!
Important: write your name, phone number and the title of the work on the back of the work!
The jury’s desicion is to be announced on the 25th October Wednesday 12 p.m. (painting category) and on the 26th October Thursday 12 p.m (graphics category). The announcement of results will be available on the official homepage of The Talent.
Those artists whose works are not selected, have to take their works on the following dates:
2nd November 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
3rd November 2017 Friday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
9th November 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
10th November 2017 Friday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
22nd November 2017 Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
23rd November 2017 Thursday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The paintings or graphics might be taken on the day of the exhibitions as well ONLY IF you book a time on the previous day until 11:55 p.m. via e-mail!
We ask the artists to bring wrapper with them!
In case not the artists takes their works, accreditation is needed signed by the artist. Find the accreditation form here.
If the artists does not take his/her works until the last date mentioned above, he/she will be charged with 100 Ft.-/work/day. After 90 days, the works that were not taken becomes the property of Bakelit Multi Art Center.
Exhibition Opening Ceremony:
Painting: 27th October 2017 at 7 p.m.
Graphics: 17th November 2017 at 7 p.m.
The exhibitions will be available until the 29th December 2017.

Prizes for both categories:
1st prize: Visual Arts Workshop on the sum of 75.000 Ft.- at Bakelit Multi Art Center, mentored by Gábor Atlasz
2nd prize: 75% support of the Visual Arts Workshop on the sum of 75.000 Ft.- at Bakelit Multi Art Center, mentored by Gábor Atlasz
3rd prize: 50% support of the Visual Arts Workshop on the sum of 75.000 Ft.- at Bakelit Multi Art Center, mentored by Gábor Atlasz
